Language Arts CurriculumStoryTown
StoryTown's foundation is cemented through systematic, explicit instruction in the key elements of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and text comprehension. It's built around a wonderful variety of nonfiction and fiction-including news articles, biographies, research, narratives, poems, plays, and fantasy. A core reading program and a guided reading program with Leveled Reader System Visual Phonics Students will learn hand cues and symbols that represent letter sounds, providing another way for students to access reading and writing. Math CurriculumEnVision Math
This program seeks to help students develop an understanding of math concepts through problem-based instruction, small-group interaction, and visual learning with a focus on reasoning and modeling. Differentiated instruction and ongoing assessment are used to meet the needs of students at all ability levels. EnVision Math in kindergarten builds a strong foundation for more complex math skills. Children will gain a strong number sense, truly understanding numbers and their value, making concepts like addition and subtraction much less taxing in the future. |
